Online retailer launches new website with interactive Build Your Own Bed tool and adaptable product information to take its growth to “the next level”.
Happy Beds’ new website has been launched in a attempt to continue its growth into one of the UK’s leading bed brands.
The online bed and mattress retailer launched in 2010 and now has revenue of £3m+ with no outside investment. Happy Beds competes with reputable brands, including Bensons for Beds and Dreams.
Cardiff-based developer Elevate Web designed the site and built it alongside Liberty, a digital marketing agency renowned for its work with Not On the High Street and Benefit Cosmetics.
The new site has many eCommerce features, including a bespoke bed builder. This innovative tool enables shoppers to create a bespoke divan bed with colours, sizes, headboard styles and storage options of their choice, and as the shopper modifies the bed, the image changes accordingly.
The site has product pages that are equipped with mattress tension adjusters, which allow users to understand how the weight of a consumer can affect the tension of individual mattresses. Shoppers are able to input their weight to find out how a mattress will feel for them.
Happy Beds has launched The Comfort Zone, a content marketing and customer service hub where Joy Richards, the in-house Sleep Specialist, shares her knowledge and tips to ensure that users sleep well every night.
Founder of Happy Beds, Rex, is confident that the new site will take the brand to “the next level”.
“We wanted to create an ‘in-store’ experience online. Buying a bed is such a personal, important purchase that it’s important to give customers as much information as possible.
The Bed Builder and the Mattress Tension guides give shoppers a more interactive experience than they could get on any other eCommerce store, which is really exciting. It’s often said that beds and mattresses must be tested in person before being bought, but I think the levels of detail on our new site disproves that.

Happy Beds is an online bedroom and mattress retailer, founded by Rex in 2010 and based in West Yorkshire. It originally started as a third-party seller on Amazon and eBay, before launching its own domain www.happybeds.co.uk in 2012.
Since then, the business has expanded with more than 20 full-time staff and a turnover of more than £3m. Based entirely in the UK, all of Happy Beds’ products are made to order and sent from its distribution centre in Manchester.
