Kickstarter is one of the best places to find up and coming projects, gadgets and inventions, and technology fans should be a daily visitor to the site!
Kickstarter is a crowd-funding site where you can find new and exciting projects to fund, and in return you get a special gift. Financing these doesn’t have to be expensive (you can literally donate as little as £1!), but it helps you see some of the projects that are going on in the techy world right now.
From smartphone gadgets to 3D printing pens, here are 5 of the best Kickstarter projects.
Znaps Magnetic Adapter
One of our favourite Kickstarter funding projects is the Znaps magnetic adapter.
All you need to do is plug in the mini connector, attach the adapter to your charging lead and the lead will magnetically attach to the connector. It prevents frayed charging cables and is yank-safe; if you pull your phone without realizing it was on charge, it won’t break!
The adapter is reversible so you don’t need to fuss around with finding the right side whilst you’re half asleep. You can still access the charging point through a custom phone case and supports digital and car audio via the USB or lighting cables.
If you’re sick of fumbling around for your charger, you’ll probably want to help fundraise it!
Prynt Instant Camera Case
Prynt is another great technology-based Kickstarter project; it’s the first ever instant camera case for smartphones!
Instead of carrying around a huge DSLR or a polaroid camera and keeping hold of the prints, all you’d need to do is pop the case onto your phone and view your photos. Plug, snap and print – literally.
You don’t even need an internet/WiFi connection for this printing case and it’s inkless. The photos that you’ve taken appear on the battery-powered screen, so you don’t need to worry about lugging around multiple devices!
Bedjet – Climate Control for your Bed
Struggling to get out of bed in the morning without freezing to death? The Bedjet will probably be your favourite Kickstarter from the bunch!
The Bedjet syncs with your body’s natural sleeping rhythms that helps you go to sleep faster and sleep for longer. With access through the iPhone and Android apps, the cooling and warming system heats up your bed (or cools it) to prevent cold feet or overheating.
If you’re worrying about the practicalities of the Bedjet, don’t. The system switches from heating to cooling rapidly, and quietly uses air already in the room. Definitely a great one if you’re not a morning person!
Lix 3D Printing Pen

Arts and crafts people will love the Lix 3D printing pen, as well as generally geeky techy lovers!
The Lix pen melts and cools coloured plastic so that you can create 3D sculptures and drawings. You don’t need any paper to create your sculptures and express your creativity.
The pen is chargable, so all you need to do is insert the filament and doodle in the air. Although it doesn’t have much use in terms of being very practical, it would definitely make a cool gadget!
iStick USB Flash Drive
Instead of using file transferring programs that need WiFi or an internet connection to access your files, the iStick USB Flash Drive is a great option.
With options for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, you can use your iStick to transfer movies, documents, music and documents from your iMac or PC to your phone.
The file transferring device won’t limit you majorly in terms of storage, and it even gives you the option to playback music from the device. No more waiting for iTunes to synchronize!
What is your favourite Kickstarter gadget? And have you ever funded one?
